Academics

Dedicated to Facilitating Student Academic and Athletic Passions

The PEAK Athletic Academy monitors the achievements of our student athletes through academic grade checks throughout the year and communication with coaches and classroom teachers. Our students are passionate about their sport and in our program we link that passion to their academics. We use the vehicle that is their sport to help us drive their education, never forgetting that they are student athletes; student first. Rather than having students feel that their love of sport is in conflict with their education, we work to show them how it is linked. Our student athletes gain knowledge in their sport on top of the work they do during their classes at school. Through our academic goal setting, they gain the knowledge that to get the chance to excel in their sport, they must excel in the classroom first and foremost.

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
