Jay Duffett
Senior High Teacher (Ecole McTavish) & PEAK Goalie Support
Jay is from Catalina Newfoundland and started coaching early in his hockey career helping the younger goalies in the Bonavista Cabot Minor Hockey Association, where he played himself. After leaving Newfoundland to play Jr. B in Windsor, Nova Scotia, Jay started working with Gold in the Net - Nova Scotia, coaching throughout the hockey season of 2006 – 2007 and during the summers of 2007 and 2008. After a year in Nova Scotia, Jay moved back to Newfoundland where he attended Memorial University and coached for Network Goalie Academy from 2007 – 2009. During the summer of 2008 he was introduced to Gold in the Net – Ontario where he coached summer camps from 2008 to 2016. After Graduating from Memorial University, in 2011 Jay moved to Brockville, Ontario where he worked full time as a goalie coach for Gold in the Net – Ontario while also attending Queen's University to attain an education degree. Jay worked there for 3 years until he took a teaching position in Pangnirtung, Nunavut. After spending a year in Pangnirtung, he finally moved to Fort McMurray in 2015, where he gladly calls home, to pursue his teaching career. Jay has spent 9 years teaching chemistry at Holy Trinity Catholic High School and is excited to start teaching Chemistry at Ecole McTavish, along with the goalies in the PEAK Academy.
