Sara Diamond

Elementary & Jr. High Coach

Welcome Sara Diamond!  Sara Diamond is from Bonavista, NL and started playing hockey when she was 12 with both male and female minor hockey divisions of the BTMHA.  She captained her NL U15 and U18 provincial teams at the Atlantic Challenge Cup (2003-2006) and Canada Games team in Whitehorse, YK (2007).  Sara then went on to play 5 years of CIS (U Sports) hockey at Mount Allison University where she earned a degree in science.   

Sara started instructing at hockey schools in 2007 with Blizzard Hockey and currently travels to NL each summer for the Danny Cleary Hockey School/Showcase.  She coached the NL U15, U16 and U18 high performance provincial teams from 2012-2019 and was the assistant coach for the NL Canada Games women’s hockey team held in Red Deer, AB in 2019. From 2013-2016 Sara coached Midget AAA female Tri-Pen Ice and was an assistant coach for the male Peewee AAA Tri-Com Thunder from 2017-2020. Sara is also a Registered Sport Massage Therapist and was the team RMT for the Newfoundland Growlers (Kelly Cup Champs 2018-2019) of the East Coast Hockey League for their first two seasons.  

Since Sara moved to Fort McMurray in 2020, she started her own hockey/skating company (Diamond Edge Factory) to help kids link their skating and hockey skills together.  She is currently the skating/skills coach and part time Assistant Coach for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and development partner with FMMHA.  Sara is a HP1 Certified coach and looking forward to sharing her knowledge and having all kinds of fun with the kids of PEAK Academy!
