We are so excited to welcome Coach Niels Slotboom to the PEAK soccer family this year!

In 2006 Niels immigrated to Canada from The Netherlands where he was born and raised. Throughout his life but especially when he immigrated, soccer and sport in general helped him integrate into a new country, culture and environment.  Because of this he is very passionate about using the sport as a vehicle to teach and motivate, kids and young adults, along their respective journeys.  Sport has the ability to teach many life lessons without the consequences of the “real world”, which is something he tries to focus on while he coaches, regardless of the age group.

In 2021 he relocated to Fort McMurray to accept the Head Coach position for at that time both the Men’s and Women’s Soccer & Futsal programs at Keyano College. Since arriving he has thoroughly enjoyed not only working with the student athletes and colleagues at the college but have also really enjoys the community of Fort McMurray and all that it has to offer.
